FingertipFlow — a typing trainer that stays out of your way.
FingertipFlow is a minimalist, distraction-free typing trainer built for developers, writers and speed-typing enthusiasts. TheDevFlo designed the interface, engineered the app end-to-end, and shipped it as a fast, offline-friendly web experience.

The brief
Every typing site on the internet is loud — ads, popups, gamified noise. The brief was the opposite: build a calm, keyboard-first typing trainer that developers actually want to open every morning. Fast to load, respectful of focus, and rich enough to cover words, quotes, code and custom passages.
Practice modes
What we built
- Six typing modes — words, quotes, code, custom, zen and lesson
- Configurable duration (15s / 30s / 60s / 120s) with punctuation & numbers toggles
- Live WPM, accuracy and consistency stats persisted per session
- Notes tab for saving custom passages and code snippets to practice
- Cinematic minimalist UI with a warm, low-glare colour system
- Spotify & mute controls for focused flow sessions
- Fully client-side & offline-friendly — no login, no tracking
- Keyboard-first UX: press Tab to instantly restart a test
The challenge
Keep typing practice focused while providing immediate feedback. Multiple practice options need to be discoverable without distracting from the typing area.
Our approach
The interface centres the typing surface and keeps mode selection and statistics nearby. A keyboard-focused interaction model makes practice the primary task, not navigation.
